What is it?
WhatsApp Fancy Fonts writes your text in 18 styles, such as ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐ or โทโคโโโโ, that you can copy into chats, your name, About and status.
Who is it for?
Young people styling their WhatsApp name, About and status, small businesses wanting an eye-catching shop name in a status or catalogue, and anyone making a birthday or festival greeting stand out. Not for official messages, where plain text is clearer.
How it works
These are not real fonts. Each style uses special Unicode characters that look like letters, so they paste anywhere without an app. Type in Your text and tap a style to copy it.
Some letters show as โก boxes or ?
- The other personโs phone does not have those characters, which happens on older Android phones and some feature phones. Pick a simpler style such as bold or italic, which almost every phone shows.
- Only AโZ and 0โ9 have fancy versions. Letters with accents and Hindi, Punjabi or Arabic text stay as they are.
Things to know before using them
- People canโt find you by searching for a fancy name, because the letters are different characters.
- Screen readers used by blind people read fancy letters one by one or skip them. Keep important messages in normal text.
- For simple bold or italic inside a message, WhatsAppโs own formatting (
*bold*,_italic_) is safer. See the WhatsApp Text Formatter.
Example
For a shop name in an About line, ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ (bold sans) stands out and shows on almost all phones. ๐ข๐ฑ๐ช๐ป๐ถ๐ช (script) looks elegant but may show boxes on some older Android phones.
Errors and how to fix them
- Boxes (โก) or question marks: the readerโs phone lacks the characters; choose bold or italic styles.
- WhatsApp wonโt save the name: names have a length limit; fancy letters can count as two characters each, so shorten it.
- Copy doesnโt work: tap the style once and wait for โCopiedโ; on some phones long-press the text and choose Copy.
