What is it?
WhatsApp Direct Message opens a chat with any phone number without saving it in your contacts. It is handy for delivery drivers, shops, landlords and one-time enquiries.
Who is it for?
Anyone who needs to message a number once without filling their contacts: delivery riders and customers, shop owners replying to new enquiries, tenants contacting a landlord, job seekers writing to a recruiter, and anyone sending a document to a government or bank helpline on WhatsApp.
How to use it
- Pick the Country and type the Number. Spaces, dashes and brackets are fine; a leading 0 is removed.
- Optionally type a Message. It is filled in for you, and you can edit it before sending.
- Tap Open in WhatsApp. On a phone the WhatsApp app opens; on a computer WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop opens.

- The number is not registered on WhatsApp, or the country is wrong. A 10-digit Indian mobile needs India (+91) selected.
- Landline numbers usually cannot use WhatsApp unless they are set up as WhatsApp Business numbers.
- Check for a missing or extra digit. Copy the number again from the source.
Nothing happens when I tap the button
- Some browsers inside apps (Instagram, Facebook) block opening other apps. Tap ⋮ → Open in browser and try again.
- On a computer without WhatsApp Desktop, WhatsApp Web opens; scan its QR code with your phone first.
- Use Copy link and paste the link in any chat or browser instead.
Will they see my number?
Yes. A normal WhatsApp chat starts, so the other person sees your number and profile like any message. The tool itself does not see or store the number.
Errors and how to fix them
- The link opens WhatsApp but says the number isn’t on WhatsApp: check the country code and number; landlines usually can’t use WhatsApp.
- WhatsApp opens on the wrong account (personal vs Business on the same phone): Android asks which app to use; choose the right one, or tap Copy link and open it inside the app you want.
- The message is cut: very long messages are trimmed by some apps; keep it short and add details in the chat.
- Nothing happens on a computer: install WhatsApp Desktop or allow WhatsApp Web to open; pop-up blockers can stop the new tab.
