Some listings on Share arrive without a description or a category. Anyone who knows the group can fill the gap in one tap, no account needed. It helps the next visitor decide whether to join, and helps the group get found.
Add a description
- Open a listing that shows the yellow note No description yet.
- Tap Add a short description in that note, or Add a description under Link not working or something wrong?
- In Describe this group (or channel), write one or two sentences: what it is about and what gets posted. For example: “Daily job alerts for freshers in Punjab”.
- Optionally add your name, then tap Send description.
When the listing had no description, it usually shows on the page within about 15 minutes. Later suggestions appear after a quick review.
What the messages mean
- “Thanks! Your description will show on this page within about 15 minutes.” It was accepted.
- “Thanks! It will appear after a quick review.” Someone already described it, so yours waits for a review.
- “Please write at least 10 characters.” / “Please keep it under 300 characters.” Adjust the length.
- “Please don’t include links or website names.” Descriptions can’t carry links; describe the group in words.
- “Sorry, this text can’t be used.” It contains words that aren’t allowed on Share.
Help categorise a listing
- Open a listing in Waiting for a Category. Its page has a box called Help categorise this group.
- Tap the category that fits, for example Jobs & Careers.
- You’ll see Thanks! Your vote is counted. The category changes when 3 visitors agree. When the third matching vote arrives, the message confirms the new category.
Your browser remembers that you voted (Thanks, your choice is saved.); you can tap another chip to change your vote.
Good descriptions
- Say who it is for and what you get: “Hindi shayari every morning”, “BGMI squad finder, no ads”.
- Be honest: if the group is mostly forwards or ads, say so, or report it instead.
- No phone numbers, prices or links.
If it doesn’t send
“Could not send. Check your connection and try again.” Reload the page and try again, and pause your ad blocker for the site. Wrong description already showing? Tap Is this your group? if you are the admin, or report the listing.
