ShareYourGroup lists both WhatsApp groups and channels. Cards with a CHANNEL tag are channels. Choosing the right kind matters for your privacy and for growing an audience.
The differences that matter
- Who can post: in a group, everyone; in a channel, only admins.
- Your phone number: visible to all group members; hidden from other channel followers and admins.
- Size: groups hold up to 1,024 members; channels have no follower limit.
- Where it appears: groups in Chats; channels in the Updates tab.
Which to join
- Channels for news, job alerts, deals and updates, especially if you want your number to stay private.
- Groups when you want to ask questions and talk: study help, local buy-and-sell, hobby chat.
Which to list (for admins)
- Use a channel to broadcast to many people without spam and without exposing members’ numbers. It suits shops, news pages and job alerts.
- Use a group for a community where members help each other, and appoint co-admins to keep it clean.
- Many admins do both: a channel for updates with a link to a smaller, moderated discussion group.
Listing a channel
Open the channel → tap its name → Share → copy the link (https://whatsapp.com/channel/…) and drop it on ShareYourGroup like a group link.

Common questions
- Can I turn my group into a channel? No; create a channel separately and invite your group members to follow it.
- Do channels show who follows? Admins see the follower count, not your number.
