Can’t Join a Group From ShareYourGroup? Fixes for Phone and Computer

Joining takes a few seconds: tap Join group (or Join channel), read the safety tips, tick I understand, tap Continue to WhatsApp, then join inside WhatsApp. If one of those steps fails, here’s why.

WhatsApp doesn’t open

  • Android: WhatsApp must be installed and updated. If a menu asks which app to open, choose WhatsApp (or WhatsApp Business). In-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook) can block it: tap ⋮ → Open in browser.
  • iPhone: open the site in Safari, not inside another app. If a banner asks to open in WhatsApp, tap Open.
  • Computer: WhatsApp Web or the desktop app opens; link your phone at web.whatsapp.com first.

WhatsApp opens but you can’t join

  • “This invite link was reset” / “Couldn’t join”: the admin made a new link; the old one no longer works.
  • The group is full: WhatsApp groups hold up to 1,024 members.
  • Request to join: the admin approves each member. Wait; you’ll be added if they accept.
  • You were removed before: if an admin removed you, you may not be able to rejoin by link.

Tap the 🚩 on the card and choose 🔗 Link not working. Dead links are checked and removed.

Before you join

  • In a group, every member can see your phone number. Prefer channels if you only want updates.
  • In WhatsApp → Settings → Privacy → Groups, choose My contacts so strangers can’t add you to other groups.
  • Never pay to join, and never share OTPs, passwords, UPI PIN or bank details.
