Reverse Text: Backwards Letters, Word Order, Line Order and Mirror Writing

What is it?

Reverse Text writes your text backwards in four ways. Choose under Reverse.

Who is it for?

Puzzle makers, teachers, children playing word games, people making mirror text for crafts, and anyone flipping the order of a list or lines.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text in the box.
  2. Under Reverse, choose Letters (olleH), Word order, Line order or Letters in each word.
  3. The result appears as you type. Tap Copy result.

The four ways

  • Letters (olleH): the whole line backwards, letter by letter. “Hello world” becomes “dlrow olleH”.
  • Word order: words swap places but stay readable: “world Hello”.
  • Line order: the last line comes first; useful for flipping a list or a chat log.
  • Letters in each word: each word reversed in place: “olleH dlrow”.

Paste your text, pick the way, and copy or download the result. Try a sample shows an example.

Emoji and accents stay whole

Emoji such as 👍🏽 or 👨‍👩‍👧, and letters with accents, are made of several hidden characters. The tool keeps each one together, so they don’t break into odd symbols when reversed. Hindi and other scripts with joined letters are reversed by visible letter, but the result is rarely readable, because vowel signs belong to their letters.

Uses

  • Puzzles, riddles, secret messages and party games.
  • Checking palindromes like “madam” or “nitin”.
  • Flipping a list that was sorted the wrong way (Line order).
  • Mirror writing for craft and T-shirt transfers: reverse the letters, then flip the picture horizontally when printing.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser. Your text is kept in this browser only so it is still there if you reload, and Clear removes it.

Errors and how to fix them

  • Hindi or Punjabi looks broken: joined letters and vowel signs don’t reverse into readable text; this is expected.
  • Nothing appears: the input box is empty, or try Try a sample to check the tool works.
