Pomodoro Timer: 25-Minute Focus Sessions and Breaks

What is it?

The Pomodoro Timer uses the Pomodoro method: work on one task for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after 4 rounds take a longer break. Set Focus (min), Short break (min), Long break (min) and Long break after (rounds).

Who is it for?

Students preparing for exams, people working from home, writers and programmers, and anyone who procrastinates.

How to use it

  1. Type What will you work on? (optional).
  2. Tap Start and work only on that task until the bell.
  3. Take the break; Skip or Reset if needed.

Making it work

Keep your phone out of reach during focus rounds. In breaks, stand up, stretch, drink water. Eight rounds a day is a full, productive study day.

Errors and how to fix them

  • Didn’t ring or beep: browser timers and alarms only work while the page is open. Keep the tab open, the volume up, silent mode off, and increase the screen timeout. For important alarms, use your phone’s own Clock app too.
  • 25 minutes feels too long or short: change Focus to 15–50 minutes; what matters is a steady rhythm.

Questions people ask

  • What if I get interrupted? Note the interruption, finish or reset the round, and start a fresh one; the method values full rounds.
  • Can I change the times? Yes, all four settings can be changed.
