What is it?
The Memory Matching Game is the classic pairs game. Cards lie face down; turn two over and, if the pictures match, they stay face up. Remember where each picture was and find every pair in as few moves as possible. Themes are animals, fruit, vehicles, space and letters (ABC), and the board can have 6 to 15 pairs.
Who is it for?
Young children building memory and attention, families looking for a quick game on one phone, and teachers using letters (ABC) as a recognition warm-up. With 12 or 15 pairs it is a real challenge for adults too.
How to use it
- Choose a theme, the number of pairs and 1 player or 2 players.
- Tap a card, then another, to turn them over.
- Matching pairs stay up and are marked green; other cards turn back after a moment.
- With 1 player the counter shows moves and time, and Best shows your fewest moves for that size. With 2 players the turn passes when a pair is missed; a found pair gives another turn.
- When all pairs are found the tool says “You found all the pairs in …”. Press ↺ New game to shuffle again.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Start with 6 pairs for children under 5; move up when they finish in under 15 moves.
- Say the picture names aloud as you turn them: naming helps memory and builds vocabulary.
- The card order is shuffled with the browser’s secure random generator, so no two games are the same.
- A perfect game takes exactly as many moves as pairs, which needs luck too; aim to beat your own Best rather than a perfect score.
There are no ads inside the game area, no chat, no sign-up and nothing is uploaded: everything runs on your phone or computer.
Errors and how to fix them
- Cards don’t turn: wait until the two open cards close again; only two can be open at a time.
- A draw!: in 2-player mode both players found the same number of pairs. Play again or pick an odd number of pairs to avoid ties.
- My best score or past results are gone: results are kept only in this browser on this device. Clearing browsing data, private/incognito mode or another browser or phone starts fresh.
