What is it?

How to make a meme

1. Tap Choose a picture, or use the plain background.
2. Type the Top text and Bottom text. Set the Text size and Text colour.
3. Tap Download JPG (smaller, best for WhatsApp) or Download PNG (sharper), or Share on phones.

Tips for good memes

• Keep captions short: a few words each. Long text gets small and hard to read on phones.
• White text with a black outline reads on almost any picture.
• Faces with clear expressions work best.

Keep it legal and kind

Use your own photos or ones you have the right to use, and keep memes kind. Memes that mock real private people, spread false claims, or use copyrighted images commercially can cause real harm and legal trouble.

Sizes that work

• Square pictures (1:1) look best on WhatsApp and Instagram feeds. Crop first with Crop Image.
• For a status or story, crop to 9:16 and keep text away from the top and bottom edges.

Common problems

• “That picture could not be opened”: try a JPG or PNG; some HEIC photos from iPhones need converting first.
• Text too small on long captions: shorten the text, or increase Text size.
