What is it?
Encrypt / Decrypt Text locks a message with a password (AES-256) inside your browser. Nothing is sent to us.
Who is it for?
Families sharing locker codes, Wi-Fi or account details, people storing private notes in email or cloud drives, and anyone sending sensitive text over chat apps where others might see it.
Lock a message
- Type the message and a password.
- Press Lock / unlock. The result starts with
GCO1:. - Send the locked text. Share the password a different way, for example in a call.
Unlock a message
Paste the whole locked text (starting with GCO1:), type the same password and press Lock / unlock.
“Wrong password, or the locked text was changed”
- Passwords are case-sensitive: check Caps Lock and spaces. Tick Show password to see what you typed.
- Some apps cut long messages or add line breaks. Ask the sender to send it again, or as a file.
I forgot the password
It cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. That is what keeps the message safe.
Worked example
- Type: Locker code 4471. Password: blue-mango-river-7.
- Tap Lock / unlock. You get a long text starting with
GCO1:. - Send that text by WhatsApp. Tell the password in a phone call.
- The receiver opens this tool, pastes the text, types the same password and taps Lock / unlock to read it.
Choosing a strong password
- Use four or more random words, or 12+ random characters. Password Generator can make one.
- Never send the password in the same chat as the locked text.
- Locking the same message twice gives different results each time; that’s normal and safer.
Good uses
- Sharing Wi-Fi, locker or account details with family.
- Keeping private notes in cloud storage or email drafts.
For whole files, use Encrypt a File with a Password instead.
