Daily Expense Tracker: Log Spending in Seconds by Category

What is it?

The Daily Expense Tracker shows where your money really goes. Type an Amount, tap a category (Food, Travel, Fuel, Bills…), add a note, and see today, this week and This month by category, with an optional Daily budget.

Who is it for?

Students on pocket money, young earners, families tracking household spending, and anyone who wants a simpler tracker than the full Money Manager.

How to use it

  1. Type the amount, pick a category, add a Note (optional), and tap Add expense.
  2. Set a daily budget if you want a limit.
  3. Check Recent and the month view; Download CSV for Excel.

Make it a habit

Add each expense right after paying; it takes 5 seconds. After a month, look at the biggest category: small daily items (tea, snacks, delivery) often add up to the most.

Your entries are saved only on this device. Back them up with My Data: Backup Everything if they matter.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “Type an amount above zero”
  • “No expenses yet”: type an amount, pick a category and press Add.
  • Entries gone: they’re saved on this device; restore from a My Data backup.

Questions people ask

  • Can I edit categories? Use the note field for details within a category.
  • Can I see last month? Yes, in the month view.
