What is it?
Daily Crossword gives you a new crossword every day with clues we wrote ourselves in plain, everyday English (not cryptic). Everyone gets the same grid on the same day, so you can compare with friends, and you can make unlimited practice puzzles with New random puzzle.
Who is it for?
People who want a friendly five-minute crossword, learners of English, children trying their first crossword, and families who compare times.
How to use it
- Tap a square or a clue; the highlighted squares are the current answer. The number in brackets after a clue is its length.
- Type letters: the cursor moves along the word by itself.
- Tap the same square again (or press Space) to switch between Across and Down.
- Press Check to mark wrong letters, Reveal letter or Reveal word when stuck, Reveal all to see everything, and Clear to start again.
- Today’s puzzle returns to the daily grid; New random puzzle makes a practice one.
Tips
- On a keyboard: arrow keys move, Enter or Tab jumps to the next clue, Backspace goes back.
- Fill short answers first; crossing letters make longer ones easy.
- Clues you solve correctly are crossed off automatically.
- Example clue style: “It runs on rails (5)” → TRAIN.
Errors and how to fix them
- “3 letters are wrong (shown in red).”: after Check; fix the red squares.
- “No wrong letters so far. Keep going!” / “All good so far.”: everything typed is right.
- “Show every answer?”: Reveal all asks first; press Cancel to keep playing.
- The keyboard does not appear on my phone: tap a white square in the grid (not the clue list).
- Today’s puzzle looks like yesterday’s: it changes at midnight on your device’s clock; check the phone’s date.
- My game, best time or score has gone: it is kept only in this browser on this device. Private windows, clearing site data, or another browser or phone start fresh.
