What is it?
The Atal Pension Yojana Calculator shows how much you must pay each month for the APY pension you want. It also shows how many years you pay, the total you pay, your pension from age 60 and the amount returned to your nominee.
Who is it for?
Workers aged 18–40 in the unorganised sector who aren’t income-tax payers and want a guaranteed pension.
How to use it
Enter your Age when joining (18 to 40) and pick the Pension you want from 60: ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 a month. The amounts come from the official APY chart. The answer appears as you type; there is no Calculate button. Tap Copy result to copy it, or Share on WhatsApp to send it.
Key rules
- After you, your spouse gets the same pension, and then the nominee gets the corpus. The pension amount is guaranteed by the government.
- “From 1 October 2022 income-tax payers cannot join”
- You need a savings account; contributions are auto-debited monthly, quarterly or half-yearly.
- Joining younger means a much smaller contribution: start as early as possible.
Missed payments
Keep enough balance on the debit date; late payments have a small penalty, and long gaps can freeze and close the account. You can change the pension amount once a year.
A fixed ₹5,000 a month will buy much less in 30–40 years because of inflation; consider adding other savings for retirement.
This is an estimate to help you plan, not financial or tax advice. Read the scheme or policy documents, and ask a qualified adviser for big decisions.
