What is it?
The World Flags and Capitals Quiz teaches 61 countries, their flags and capital cities. Choose the whole world or one continent, then play one of four games, or study every flag in the All flags book with a search box. The flags are drawn by the tool, so they show on every phone and computer, even where flag emojis don’t work.
Who is it for?
Curious children, students preparing for general-knowledge and geography tests, quiz-night players, and teachers who want a quick class quiz on a projector.
How to use it
- Choose World or a continent (Asia, Africa, Europe, Americas, Oceania).
- Pick a game: Flag → country (“Which country has this flag?”), Country → flag (“Find the flag of …”), Capitals (“What is the capital of …?”) or Capital → country.
- Tap your answer. Ten questions make a round, with the score and stars at the end.
- Open All flags to study each flag with its country and capital; type in “Search a country or capital”.
Things learners often get wrong
- Bern is Switzerland’s capital, not Zurich; Canberra is Australia’s, not Sydney; Ottawa is Canada’s, not Toronto.
- Ivory Coast’s capital is Yamoussoukro, though Abidjan is bigger; Nigeria’s is Abuja, not Lagos.
- Ireland (green, white, orange) and Ivory Coast (orange, white, green) are mirror images; Italy is green, white, red.
Tips
- Learn one continent at a time, then mix with World.
- Say the capital aloud after each answer.
- Look for patterns: many African flags use red, yellow and green; many European flags are three stripes.
Errors and how to fix them
- “Not quite: the answer is shown in green”: only the first tap counts. Look at the green answer, say it aloud together, and the next question comes on its own. At the end the tool shows the score with stars (🌱 to ⭐⭐⭐).
- A flag looks simpler than the real one: flags with detailed emblems are drawn in a simplified way so they stay clear at small sizes; colours and layout are correct.
- Search finds nothing: only the 61 countries in the quiz are listed; check spelling (e.g. Czechia, Ivory Coast).
