What is it?
The Text Cleaner fixes the mess that comes with copied text: double spaces, broken lines from PDFs, empty lines, leftover tags and invisible characters.
Who is it for?
Anyone pasting text from PDFs, websites, WhatsApp or Word into another place: students, writers, data-entry staff and developers who keep fighting extra spaces, broken lines and odd characters.
How to use it
- Paste the messy text.
- Tick the clean-ups you need.
- Copy or download the cleaned text.
The options
- Remove extra spaces and tabs: turns runs of spaces into one.
- Trim each line: removes spaces at the start and end of lines.
- Remove empty lines: closes up gaps.
- Join all lines into one paragraph: fixes text copied from PDFs, where every line ends with a break.
- Remove HTML tags: strips <p>, <br> and similar.
- Smart quotes → straight quotes: “ ” ‘ ’ become " and ', which code, CSV files and some forms need.
- Remove invisible characters: zero-width spaces and similar marks that break searches, passwords and formulas.
Common fixes
- PDF text with broken lines: tick Join all lines into one paragraph. For several paragraphs, clean one paragraph at a time.
- A copied password or code “doesn’t work”: tick Remove invisible characters and Trim each line.
- Excel formula fails on copied numbers: a non-breaking space is hidden in them. Clean with extra spaces and invisible characters ticked.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser. Your text is kept in this browser only so it is still there if you reload, and Clear removes it.
