Screen Recorder: Record Your Screen, a Window or a Tab With Sound

What is it?

The Screen Recorder records your whole screen, one window or a browser tab, with the tab’s sound and your microphone, right in the browser. Use it for tutorials, bug reports, online classes and showing someone how to do something.

Who is it for?

Teachers making lessons, support staff recording bugs, YouTubers, students saving online classes (where allowed), and anyone explaining something on screen.

How to use it

  1. Tap ● Start screen recording. Choose what to share: the whole screen, a window or a browser tab.
  2. After the countdown (Starting in …), it shows 🔴 Recording.
  3. Tap ■ Stop (or the browser’s stop sharing), then Download.

Respect privacy

Close private tabs and notifications before recording. Recording online classes or meetings may need permission from the host.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “Microphone not available: recording without it”: allow the microphone, or record without your voice.
  • No sound from a video: choose a browser tab and tick “Share tab audio”; whole-screen sound is only available on some systems (e.g. Chrome on Windows).
  • Doesn’t work on my phone: most mobile browsers can’t record the screen; use the phone’s built-in screen recorder.
  • Large files: long recordings take space; record in shorter parts.

Questions people ask

  • What format is the video? Usually WebM, which most players and YouTube accept.
