What is it?
Screen Light turns your phone, tablet or laptop screen into a soft light. Use white light for reading or finding things, warm light as a night light, or any colour, and set the brightness.
Who is it for?
Anyone in a power cut, people reading at night without waking others, video callers who need a front light, and anyone needing a quick signal light.
How to use it
- Pick a colour and brightness.
- Tap Full screen light (or Tap for full screen).
- Turn on Keep screen on so it doesn’t go dark.
Tips
- Set phone brightness to maximum for the most light; the page can’t raise system brightness.
- Warm colours are gentler at night and don’t disturb sleep as much.
- Your phone’s real torch (back LED) is much brighter for finding things outdoors.
- Full white at full brightness uses battery quickly; dim it during long power cuts.
Errors and how to fix them
- “Full screen is not allowed here: turn your screen brightness up instead”
- This browser has no full screen. Turn your screen brightness to maximum for the most light (common on iPhone).
- This browser cannot keep the screen awake: increase the screen timeout in phone settings, or tap the screen now and then.
Questions people ask
- Can it replace a night light? Yes, choose warm colours and low brightness.
