What is it?
Punjabi Riddles is a set of more than 30 ਬੁਝਾਰਤਾਂ (riddles) in Gurmukhi, written by us in the style of riddles told in Punjabi homes. Each riddle has an ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ (hint) and a ਜਵਾਬ (answer), and the buttons are in Punjabi.
Who is it for?
Punjabi families at home and abroad, children learning Gurmukhi, Punjabi teachers and gurdwara Sunday schools, and family WhatsApp groups.
How to use it
- ਬੁਝਾਰਤ ਪੜ੍ਹੋ: read the riddle; the line above shows how many are ਹੱਲ (solved).
- Type your answer in ਆਪਣਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਲਿਖੋ… and press ਜਾਂਚੋ (Check) or Enter. A right answer shows ਸਹੀ ਜਵਾਬ! 🎉.
- 💡 ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ gives the hint, 👀 ਜਵਾਬ shows the answer.
- ਅਗਲੀ ▶ for the next one, ◀ to go back, 🔀 ਕੋਈ ਵੀ for any riddle. ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੱਲ at the top shows only unsolved riddles; ਸਾਰੀਆਂ shows all.
- WhatsApp ਤੇ ਭੇਜੋ shares it; ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਝਾਰਤਾਂ ਜਵਾਬਾਂ ਨਾਲ opens the full list.
Tips
- Read the riddle aloud: the rhyme helps you hear the answer.
- Ask grandparents for the bujartan they grew up with and compare them with these.
- For children, reading the ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ line is simple Gurmukhi reading practice.
- Share one on the family group and see who answers first; post the answer the next day.
Errors and how to fix them
- “ਨਹੀਂ, ਫੇਰ ਸੋਚੋ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਵੇਖੋ।”: the answer did not match. Small differences such as ਸ਼ or ਸ, and tippi or bindi, are ignored, so check the word itself.
- “ਆਪਣਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਲਿਖੋ…” in red: the box was empty when you pressed ਜਾਂਚੋ.
- I typed in English letters: answers must be in Gurmukhi. Add the Punjabi keyboard in Gboard or your phone settings, or use voice typing; on Windows add Punjabi in language settings. Our Punjabi Typing Practice tool helps you learn the keys.
- “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਝਾਰਤਾਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਲਈਆਂ! 🏆”: all solved with ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੱਲ chosen; tap ਸਾਰੀਆਂ to replay.
- My ticks and solved count are gone: progress is saved only in this browser on this device. A private (incognito) window, clearing site data, or another phone or browser starts from zero.
