What is it?
The Lump Sum Investment Calculator shows what a single investment could grow to, with the Gains and how many times your Money multiplies by.
Who is it for?
People investing a bonus, inheritance, maturity amount or property sale proceeds in one go.
How to use it
Enter the Amount invested once, the Expected return (yearly %) and the number of Years. The answer appears as you type; there is no Calculate button. Pick your Currency at the top if asked, then tap Copy result or Share on WhatsApp.
The rule of 72
Divide 72 by the yearly return to find roughly how many years money takes to double: at 8% it doubles in about 9 years, at 12% in about 6.
Lump sum or SIP?
- If you already have the money, investing it at once usually grows more over long periods, because more money is invested for longer.
- In shares and equity funds, investing all at once at a market high can hurt in the short term. Spreading it over 6–12 months (a systematic transfer plan, STP) reduces that timing risk.
- For fixed-return products like FDs, timing doesn’t matter: use the FD Calculator for exact bank maturity values.
Good to know
Results are before tax and inflation. A “3× in 15 years” result buys less than 3× of today’s goods.
This is an estimate to help you plan, not financial or tax advice. For big decisions, check the latest rules and talk to a qualified adviser.
Errors and how to fix them
- Result equals the amount: return or years is 0.
