What is it?
The Magnifier turns your phone’s back camera into a magnifying glass for tiny print on medicine labels, receipts, seed packets, SIM cards and screws, with Zoom, Light (torch), Freeze and high-contrast reading modes.
Who is it for?
Older people and anyone with weak near vision, people reading medicine labels and expiry dates, and technicians reading serial numbers.
How to use it
- Tap Start magnifier and allow the camera.
- Zoom in (start at 2× zoom), turn on Light in dim places.
- Tap Freeze to hold the picture still and read it comfortably.
Tip
High-contrast modes (white text on black) make small print much easier to read for people with low vision. For medicines, double-check the dose with your pharmacist.
Errors and how to fix them
- This browser cannot open the camera here. Try Chrome, Safari or Edge on a phone.
- Camera blocked: allow the camera in the browser’s site settings (icon left of the address) and in phone Settings → Apps → your browser → Permissions. In-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook) often block cameras: open the page in Chrome or Safari.
- Camera in use: close video-call apps that hold the camera.
- “Start the magnifier first”: Freeze and Light need the camera running.
- Light or zoom not available: some cameras or browsers don’t allow torch or zoom control; move the phone closer instead.
- Blurry: hold 8–15 cm away and let the camera focus; use Freeze.
