What is it?
Logic Grid Puzzles are detective puzzles: a few friends each have a different pet, drink, colour, city, hobby or snack, and a short list of clues is enough to work out who has what. You mark ✕ where a pairing is impossible and ● where it must be true. A new puzzle is made every time, with exactly one solution.
Who is it for?
Students practising reasoning for exams and olympiads, puzzle fans who enjoy “Einstein” or “zebra” puzzles, and teachers (the 3-person level suits children of about 8 and up).
How to use it
- Choose a Level: Easy: 3 people, Medium: 4 people or Hard: 5 people, and press New puzzle.
- Read the Clues; tap a clue to cross it off once used.
- Tap a grid square once for ✕ (no), twice for ● (yes), three times to clear. With When I place ●, cross out the rest of its row and column ticked, the grid does that for you.
- The lower part of the grid links the two non-name lists (for example Pet and Drink).
- Press Check, Hint or Clear grid. Solved shows Every match is right.
Worked example
Clue “Ben does not drink tea” → put ✕ where Ben meets Tea. Clue “Asha owns the dog” → put ● at Asha + Dog; the other squares in that row and column become ✕. Clue “The dog owner drinks milk” → mark Dog + Milk in the lower grid, which with Asha’s ● tells you Asha drinks milk.
“Either … or …” clues mean exactly one is true: powerful once one option is ruled out.
Errors and how to fix them
- “2 marks are wrong (shaded red).”: after Check; fix them before they spread to other conclusions.
- “No mistakes so far.”: your marks are right, but not complete yet.
- “Hint: Asha goes with Dog.”: the hint places one ● for you.
- The grid is wide on my phone: Hard (5 people) is large; turn the phone sideways or use Easy or Medium.
- My game, best time or score has gone: it is kept only in this browser on this device. Private windows, clearing site data, or another browser or phone start fresh.
