What is it?
Text typed in the Kruti Dev font looks like gibberish (Hkkjr) anywhere the font is missing. The Kruti Dev to Unicode Converter turns it into Unicode Hindi (भारत) that works on websites, WhatsApp and Google, or converts Unicode back to Kruti Dev for old DTP software.
Who is it for?
Government and court typists, DTP operators, teachers and students with old Hindi documents, and anyone who received Hindi that looks like random English letters.
How to use it
- Paste the text.
- Choose the Direction (Kruti Dev → Unicode, Unicode → Kruti Dev, or detect automatically).
- Copy the result.
Why Unicode?
Unicode Hindi works everywhere: Google can search it, phones show it, and it can be copied anywhere. Use Unicode for new documents; type with Google Indic keyboard or Windows Hindi keyboard.
Everything happens in your browser; nothing you type or choose is uploaded.
Errors and how to fix them
- A few conjuncts look wrong: rare half-letters and conjuncts can differ between Kruti Dev versions; check words like क्ष, त्र, श्र and fix by hand.
- Unicode → Kruti Dev looks like English in Word: set the font to Kruti Dev 010 to see it as Hindi.
- Mixed English words came out strange: convert only the Hindi parts.
Questions people ask
- Does it handle Mangal? Mangal is already Unicode; no conversion needed.
