Excel to PDF: Print Spreadsheets Neatly, Fitting the Page Width

What is it?

Excel to PDF turns spreadsheet sheets into a clean, printable PDF. It can fit all columns to the page width (no columns cut off onto extra pages), repeat the first row on every page and add gridlines, so long lists and bills stay readable.

Who is it for?

Shopkeepers sending price lists and stock sheets, accountants sharing statements, teachers sending mark sheets, societies sharing maintenance accounts, and anyone who wants a spreadsheet to look tidy on WhatsApp or paper.

How to use it

  1. Choose your .xlsx, .xls or .csv file.
  2. Tick the Sheets to print and pick the Page direction (Automatic, Portrait or Landscape).
  3. Choose Fit all columns to the page width, Repeat the first row on every page and Gridlines as needed.
  4. Tap Convert to PDF, wait for Laying out the pages…, and download.

Worked example

Try a sample uses a small family-expenses workbook with two sheets (Expenses and Summary) and makes 3 pages with the header repeated. For a 12-column sales sheet, choose Landscape and Fit all columns: everything fits across, with the header on top of every page.

The PDF shows each page as a picture, so it looks the same everywhere; text cannot be selected.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us, and closing the page clears it.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “This file could not be read as a spreadsheet. Try saving it as .xlsx or .csv”: re-save it from Excel or Google Sheets.
  • “Tick at least one sheet”: no sheet was selected.
  • “These sheets are empty”: the chosen sheets have no cells with data.
  • Text is tiny: many columns were fitted onto one page. Use Landscape, or hide unneeded columns in Excel first.
  • Formulas show old values: the PDF shows the values saved in the file; open and save it in Excel to refresh them.
