Should I count the end date?

  • Leave it off for durations: from 1 to 10 March is 9 days later, like counting nights in a hotel.
  • Tick it when both days are included: leave from 1 to 10 March is 10 days of leave.
  • Legal and notice periods have their own rules; read the document’s wording.

Uses

  • Days left to an exam or a loan due date.
  • The date 90 days after a purchase (warranty or return window): add 90.

Only calendar days are counted. For working days that skip weekends and holidays, use the Working Days Calculator.
