What is it?
The Webcam Test makes sure your webcam is ready for a video call, interview or class. See yourself live, then check the camera’s real resolution (720p, 1080p…), aspect ratio, frame rate and Camera name, and Take a test photo.
Who is it for?
Students and job seekers before online interviews and exams, remote workers, and anyone buying or setting up a webcam.
How to use it
- Tap 📷 Test my webcam and allow it. You’ll see Your camera works ✓.
- Tap Try highest resolution to see what it can really do.
- Take a test photo to check light and framing.
Look better on calls
Face a window, keep the camera at eye level, and clean the lens. Good light improves picture quality more than a better camera.
Errors and how to fix them
- “This browser cannot …”: use a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a secure (https) page. In-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook) often block cameras and microphones: open the page in your browser.
- “Permission denied” or nothing happens: allow the microphone/camera in the browser’s site settings (icon left of the address), and in phone Settings → Apps → your browser → Permissions.
- Used by another app: close video-call apps (Zoom, Meet, WhatsApp calls) that hold the device.
- Black screen: some laptops have a privacy shutter or a camera key (often F8 or F10).
- Lower resolution than advertised: USB 2 ports, cables or the browser may limit it.
