Text to PDF: Fonts, Paper Size and Hindi or Other Scripts

What is it?

Text to PDF turns plain text into a neat PDF page: notes, letters, lists, or a .txt file you need to send as PDF.

Who is it for?

Anyone who needs a simple PDF of notes, a list, a short letter or a plain .txt file, without installing a word processor, for example on a phone or a shared computer.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste in Text, or tap Open a .txt file. Add an optional Title for the top of the first page.
  2. Pick the Font (Sans (Helvetica), Serif (Times) or Monospace (Courier)), the Size and the Paper (A4 or Letter).
  3. Tap Make PDF. Long text flows onto as many pages as needed.

Hindi, Punjabi, Chinese or emoji don’t show

The three PDF fonts only contain Latin letters (English and most European languages). Other scripts and emoji come out missing or as odd symbols, and the tool warns you when your text has them. Use HTML to PDF instead: paste your text there and choose Print / Save as PDF, which uses your device’s own fonts for every language.

Good to know

  • Monospace keeps columns and code lined up exactly.
  • Text can be selected and searched in the PDF, because it is real text, not a picture.
  • Bold, colours and pictures are not supported here. For formatted documents, write them in HTML to PDF, or use the Letter Generator for letters.
  • If you see Type or paste some text first, the Text box is empty: an empty PDF isn’t made.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The file is opened and processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us, and closing the page clears it.
