What is it?
The Take-home Pay Calculator turns your gross pay into what reaches your bank account, for any country and pay schedule.
Who is it for?
Job seekers comparing offers, employees checking payslips, and anyone converting CTC or gross pay into in-hand pay.
How to use it
- Enter your Yearly gross pay (CTC minus employer contributions, if you’re in India).
- Enter Income tax (your estimate): use the Income Tax Calculator for India, UK or US to find it.
- Add Social security / provident fund and Other deductions a month (insurance, loans).
- Choose how you are Paid: Monthly, Every two weeks or Weekly.
CTC is not salary
In India, CTC (cost to company) includes the employer’s PF, gratuity, insurance and sometimes bonuses you may not get every month. Your in-hand pay is often 70–85% of CTC ÷ 12. Start from the gross salary on your offer letter or payslip.
Checking against your payslip
- Professional tax (in some states, about ₹200 a month) and labour welfare fund are small deductions people forget.
- Tax deducted each month (TDS) is spread over the year and can jump in the last months if investment proofs weren’t submitted.
- Bi-weekly pay means 26 pays a year, so two months have three paydays.
Errors and how to fix them
- Take-home negative: deductions exceed pay; check yearly vs monthly fields.
