What is it?
Remove PDF Password saves a copy of a password-protected PDF that opens without asking for the password, using the password you already know. It can also lift limits on printing and copying from PDFs that open freely.
Who is it for?
People tired of typing a password for every bank statement, salary slip or insurance document, and anyone whose upload form refuses locked PDFs, such as loan, visa and tax portals.
How to use it
- Tap Choose a locked PDF.
- Type the PDF password (the one you use to open it).
- Tap Remove password. You’ll see Unlocked! This copy opens without a password. Keep it safe.
Common passwords on Indian documents
Banks, insurers and payroll systems often use part of your name in capitals plus your date of birth (for example ASHA1508), your customer ID, or the last digits of your PAN or mobile. The exact rule differs by sender and is usually written in the email.
Important
- It can’t find or crack a password you don’t know.
- Only unlock files that are yours or that you have permission to use.
- An unlocked statement is readable by anyone who gets the file: store it carefully, and delete extra copies.
Errors and how to fix them
- “Good news: this PDF has no password or restrictions”: nothing to remove; use the file as it is.
- “This PDF opens without a password but blocks printing or copying”: press Remove password to lift those limits.
- “Type the password, then press Remove password”: the password box is empty.
- Wrong password: capital letters matter. Check the email the PDF came with for the exact rule.
