Passport Photo Maker: Country Sizes and a Print Sheet

What is it?

The Passport Photo Maker makes passport and visa photos at home. Pick the Country / document, position the face in the guide, adjust Zoom (face size) and Brightness, then get the photo and a Print sheet with several copies.

Who is it for?

Anyone applying for a passport, visa, OCI, exam or ID card who wants to save on studio photos, and cyber-café and print-shop owners.

How to use it

  1. Choose a face photo: plain light background, facing the camera.
  2. Pick the country or set Width (mm) and Height (mm).
  3. “Place the face inside the green oval: top of the head near its top, chin at its bottom”
  4. Choose the print sheet and tap Make photo and print sheet.

Taking a good photo at home

Stand half a metre in front of a plain white or light wall, face a window for even light, keep a neutral expression, no glasses or caps, and have someone take the photo at eye level. For India’s online passport, check the digital photo specifications on the Passport Seva site.

Everything happens in your browser; nothing you type or choose is uploaded.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “This photo size is bigger than the sheet”: choose a bigger sheet.
  • Printed photo the wrong size: print at “actual size” (100%, no fit-to-page).
  • Photo rejected: shadows, glasses glare, a non-plain background or a tilted head are common reasons.
