GPA and CGPA Calculator: GPA, CGPA and CGPA to Percentage

What is it?

The GPA and CGPA Calculator works out a credit-weighted GPA or CGPA, and converts CGPA to percentage.

Who is it for?

College students, students applying for jobs or admissions that ask for percentage, and parents checking results.

Choose what you want

  • GPA from grades and credits (4.0 scale): for US-style grades. Write one course per line: grade and credits, like A 3 or B+ 4.
  • CGPA from grade points and credits (10-point): for Indian universities. Write grade point and credits, like 8 4.
  • CGPA to percentage (× 9.5): type Your CGPA.

Credits matter

A 4-credit subject counts twice as much as a 2-credit one. Use the credits from your marksheet; if every subject has the same credits, give each 1.

CGPA to percentage

The ×9.5 rule is the CBSE / many Indian universities’ rule. Some universities use their own formula: check your marksheet. For example, some use (CGPA − 0.5) × 10 or (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Job and admission forms usually want the conversion your university states.

Applying abroad

Converting an Indian 10-point CGPA to a US 4.0 GPA is not a simple formula. Universities and services like WES evaluate transcripts their own way.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “Add at least one line like “A 3””: write a grade and credits on each line, separated by a space.
  • Unknown grade letters: use A+ to F or numbers.
