What is it?
Extract Frames from Video turns a video into still images: a frame every few seconds, a set number spread evenly, or the exact frame you paused on. Use it for thumbnails, storyboards, evidence or picking the best moment from a video.
Who is it for?
YouTubers making thumbnails, parents getting a photo from a video of their child, students and researchers, and people saving a frame as evidence.
How to use it
- Choose a video (MP4, WebM, MOV).
- Choose how many to Take or Seconds between frames, and the Size and Save as format; tap Extract frames.
- Or pause on a moment and tap Save the frame on screen.
Tip
For a sharp thumbnail, take many frames around the moment (every 0.5 seconds) and pick the clearest one.
Errors and how to fix them
- “This video could not be opened here”: browsers play MP4 (H.264), WebM and most phone videos; try converting it to MP4 first.
- The video stopped responding at …: the file may be damaged there; try a smaller range or another copy.
- Blurry frames: fast motion blurs single frames; pause on a still moment.
Questions people ask
- Is my video uploaded? No, frames are taken in your browser.
- What size are frames? The video’s own size, or smaller if you choose.
Practical tip
For evidence, save the frame on screen at the exact moment and note the video time it came from.
