Discount Calculator: Sale Price, Extra Discounts and “Flat 50% + 20%”

What is it?

The Discount Calculator shows what You pay, what You save, and the Total discount after a discount and an optional extra discount.

Who is it for?

Shoppers during sales, online buyers comparing offers, and shopkeepers setting sale prices.

How to use it

Enter the Original price (MRP), the Discount % and any Extra discount (optional). The answer appears as you type; there is no Calculate button. Tap Copy result to copy it, or Share on WhatsApp to send it.

Stacked discounts don’t add up

“50% off + extra 20%” is not 70% off. The extra 20% applies to the already reduced price: ₹2,000 → ₹1,000 → ₹800, a 60% total discount. The calculator works it out this way.

Comparing offers

  • Compare the final price, not the percentage. 40% off a higher MRP can cost more than 25% off elsewhere.
  • “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” is 50% off only if you want both items; “Buy 2 Get 1” is 33% off.
  • Bank card offers often have a maximum discount (for example 10% up to ₹1,500) and a minimum order value.
  • Check delivery fees and whether GST is included.

Shopkeepers

A discount cuts your profit faster than the price: on a 25% margin, a 10% discount removes 40% of the profit. Use the Profit Margin Calculator to check.

Errors and how to fix them

  • Negative price: discounts over 100% aren’t possible; check the numbers.
