What is it?
Crop PDF cuts the edges off PDF pages: wide grey borders on scans, empty space around slides, or headers and footers you don’t need. Drag a box on the page, type exact margins in millimetres, or let it find the white margins for you.
Who is it for?
Students reading scanned books on phones, teachers preparing worksheets, people cleaning up phone scans before printing, and anyone making slides or e-books easier to read on a small screen.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF.
- Drag a box on the page around the part to keep, or type Top (mm), Bottom (mm), Left (mm) and Right (mm), or tap Find white margins.
- Leave Pages (optional) empty for All pages, or type pages like
2-10. - Tap Crop PDF.
Cropping doesn’t delete hidden content
The page is cut down to the area you keep, so viewers and printers show only that part, but the hidden part stays inside the file. To truly remove names, numbers or signatures, use Redact PDF instead.
Example
A scanned A4 book page with 25 mm grey borders: set all four margins to 22 mm, or use Find white margins. On a phone, the text then fills the screen and reads much larger.
The PDF is opened and changed inside your browser; it is never uploaded. Close the page and it is gone.
Errors and how to fix them
- “This PDF is password-protected. Remove the password first”: open it once with Remove PDF Password (you need the password), then use the unlocked copy here.
- “Those pages are not in this PDF”: check the page numbers.
- The margins are bigger than page …: the margins add up to more than that page’s size; make them smaller, or crop that page separately.
- Text cut off on some pages: scans shift slightly page to page; leave a few millimetres of extra margin.
