What is it?
Crop Image trims a photo to the part you want, freely or to a ready Shape, and saves it.
Who is it for?
Anyone preparing a passport or visa photo, a square profile picture, a YouTube thumbnail, a status or story picture, or removing an unwanted edge from a photo or screenshot.
How to crop
- Tap Choose a photo.
- Pick a Shape: Free, Square 1:1 (profile, Instagram), 16:9 (YouTube, screen), 9:16 (status, reels, stories), 4:5 (Instagram portrait), 4:3, 3:2 (photo print), Passport 35 × 45 mm, 1.91:1 (link preview) or 3:1 (cover banner).
- Drag the crop box and its corners, or type Left (px), Top (px), Width (px) and Height (px) for exact control.
- Optionally set an Output width (optional), pick Save as, and tap Crop.
Passport and visa photos
- Choose Passport 35 × 45 mm. For printing at 300 DPI, set the output width to 413 px.
- Keep the face centred, head and top of shoulders visible, with even space above the head. Countries have exact rules for head size and background; check the official guidelines (Passport Seva, VFS or the embassy).
- Use a plain light background and even lighting; don’t use filters.
Tips
Crop before resizing or compressing, so you don’t throw away detail you keep. A small crop of a big photo can look blurry when shown large.
Which format to save as?
- Same as original keeps the file type. JPG is smallest for photos. PNG keeps sharp text and transparent backgrounds. WebP is small with good quality, but a few old programs can’t open it.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is opened and processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us, and closing the page clears it.
Errors and how to fix them
- The crop box won’t move on a phone: drag inside the box with one finger; pinching zooms the page instead.
- Result is blurry: you cropped a small part of a small photo; use a larger original.
- Passport photo rejected: check the head size and background rules for your country; the shape alone isn’t enough.
