What is it?
Zip & Unzip packs files into one ZIP to send by email or WhatsApp, and opens ZIP files on phones and computers without installing an app.
Who is it for?
Anyone sending many files as one attachment, phone users who received a ZIP and can’t open it, students submitting a project folder, and office staff packing documents for email.
Make a ZIP
- Choose Make a ZIP, then Choose files or Choose a folder (folders keep their structure inside the ZIP).
- Type a ZIP name and choose the Compression: Normal, Smallest (slower) or Fastest.
- Tap Create ZIP. The message shows the size before and after.
Open a ZIP
- Choose Open a ZIP and Choose a ZIP file.
- Every file inside is listed. Download the ones you need. Clear starts again.
Problems and fixes
- “This ZIP is password-protected”: password ZIPs can’t be opened here. Use 7-Zip on Windows, or the Files app on most phones.
- The ZIP is barely smaller: photos, videos, MP3s and PDFs are already compressed, so zipping them saves little. ZIP still helps to send many files as one.
- RAR or 7z files: only ZIP is supported.
- Very large ZIPs: everything happens in your device’s memory. Phones handle a few hundred MB; for several GB use a computer.
- Choose a folder doesn’t appear on my phone: most phone browsers only allow choosing files. Select all the files inside the folder instead.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is opened and processed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us, and closing the page clears it.
