What is it?
The Pressure Converter converts psi, bar, kPa, MPa, atm, mmHg, inHg, hPa (millibar) and kgf/cm².
Who is it for?
Drivers and bikers checking tyre pressure, people reading blood-pressure and weather values, mechanics, engineers and students.
How to use it
- Type the Value and pick the From unit.
- Every other unit is shown under In every unit; tap a value to copy it, or use Copy result.
- Tap ⇅ Swap to convert the other way.
Where each unit is used
- Tyres: psi or bar. A car tyre at 32 psi is 2.2 bar. Use the pressure printed inside the driver’s door or in the manual, not the maximum on the tyre wall, and check tyres cold.
- Blood pressure: mmHg. 120/80 is about 16/10.7 kPa.
- Weather: hPa (same as millibar). Normal sea-level air is about 1013 hPa = 1 atm.
- Gas cylinders and hydraulics: kgf/cm² (often written “kg”) or bar. 1 kgf/cm² ≈ 0.98 bar.
Gauge or absolute?
Tyre and cylinder gauges show pressure above the air around (psig, barg). Scientific values are often absolute (psia). Absolute = gauge + about 1 atm (14.7 psi). Don’t mix them.
Errors and how to fix them
- A result looks hugely wrong: check the From unit. Picking a unit that looks similar to the one you meant is the most common mistake.
- Very long decimals: results show up to 10 significant digits; round to what you need.
- Tyre gauge disagrees: gauges show pressure above air pressure; don’t add 14.7 psi.
