Number Names in Many Languages: 0–100 in Nine Languages With Audio

What is it?

Number Names in Many Languages shows any number from 0 to 100 written and spoken in nine languages (English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Russian, Chinese and Japanese) with native digits.

Who is it for?

Children curious about languages, students learning a second language, travellers, and teachers running multilingual lessons.

How to use it

  1. Type a Number (0 to 100), use +10, or Try a sample.
  2. Read the names and native digits.
  3. Tap 🔊 to hear a language.

Patterns to notice

  • French says 80 as “quatre-vingts”: four twenties.
  • German says 21 as “einundzwanzig”: one-and-twenty.
  • Chinese and Japanese build 11–99 logically: ten-one, two-ten-three.
  • Hindi has a unique word for every number up to 100, which is why it takes longer to learn.

For parents and teachers

Short sessions work best: 5–10 minutes a day, then something active. Sit with young children, say the answers aloud together, and praise effort, not just right answers. Everything runs on the device with no sign-up, no chat and no data collected about your child.

Errors and how to fix them

  • No sound when tapping 🔊: turn up the volume, switch off silent mode (on iPhone, the side switch), and check the browser tab isn’t muted. Sounds use your device’s built-in voices.
  • No sound for a language: It stays silent when your device has no voice for that language. Install that language’s voice in the device’s text-to-speech settings.
