Child Height and Weight Percentile: WHO Growth Charts 0–19 Years

What is it?

Child Height and Weight Percentile shows how a child’s height and weight compare with healthy children of the same age and sex. It uses the WHO growth charts (birth to 19 years) and gives the percentile and z-score.

Who is it for?

Parents tracking growth, paediatric nurses and doctors, school health workers, and anganwadi workers.

How to use it

  1. Choose the Child (Boy or Girl) and Units.
  2. Enter Age: years and and months, the Height / length and Weight.
  3. Read the percentiles and z-scores.

Reading percentiles

The 50th percentile is average: half of children are taller, half shorter. Anywhere between about the 3rd and 97th percentile is usually normal; the trend over time matters more than one reading. A sudden drop across percentiles, or values outside that range, are worth discussing with a doctor.

This is information, not a diagnosis.
