Change Audio Speed and Pitch: Slow Down Songs, Speed Up Lectures

What is it?

Change Audio Speed and Pitch slows down a song to learn it, speeds up a long lecture or voice note, or moves a track into a key that suits your voice. Choose 0.5× to 2× speed with the same pitch, or shift pitch by semitones, and save as WAV.

Who is it for?

Music learners, singers, students with recorded lectures, language learners, and anyone with long voice notes.

How to use it

  1. Choose an audio file (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A) or Try a sample.
  2. Set Speed (0.5× to 2×) and/or Pitch (semitones).
  3. Tap Make and download the WAV.

Examples

  • Learning a fast guitar solo: 0.75× speed, same pitch.
  • A 60-minute lecture at 1.5×: 40 minutes.
  • Song too high to sing: −2 semitones.

Errors and how to fix them

  • “This file could not be opened. Try MP3, WAV, OGG or M4A”: convert it first, or check it isn’t a video.
  • Sounds robotic at extreme settings: 0.5× and 2× are limits; 0.75×–1.5× sounds most natural.
  • Big file: WAV is uncompressed; convert to MP3 afterwards if needed.

Questions people ask

  • Is my audio uploaded? No, it’s processed in your browser.
  • Can I change only pitch? Yes: keep speed at 1× and change semitones.

Practical tip

For learning songs, practise a section at 0.75× until it’s clean, then 0.9×, then full speed. Saving each speed as a separate WAV lets you practise offline on your phone.
