What is it?
The Car Loan Calculator shows the monthly EMI for a car loan. Start from the on-road price and your down payment, and it shows the loan amount, EMI, total interest and the total cost of the car.
Who is it for?
People buying a new or used car, comparing dealer and bank finance, and deciding how much to pay upfront.
How to use it
Enter the Car price (on-road), Down payment, Interest rate, Tenure and any Processing fee (optional). The answer appears as you type; there is no Calculate button. Pick your Currency at the top if asked, then tap Copy result or Share on WhatsApp.
Use the on-road price
The on-road price includes ex-showroom price, road tax, registration and insurance. Many banks lend 80–90% of the on-road or ex-showroom price, so plan a down payment of at least 10–20%.
Smart choices
- Keep the tenure to 3–5 years. Cars lose value quickly; a 7-year loan can leave you owing more than the car is worth.
- A common guideline: the car EMI should be under 10–15% of your monthly take-home pay.
- Compare the dealer’s offer with your bank’s. “Zero interest” deals often hide the cost in a higher price or fees: compare the Total cost of the car.
- Check the prepayment or foreclosure charge before signing, if you plan to close the loan early.
This is an estimate to help you plan, not financial or tax advice. For big decisions, check the latest rules and talk to a qualified adviser.
Errors and how to fix them
- “The down payment is more than the price”: lower the down payment; then no loan is needed.
