What is it?
The Slug Generator turns a title into the last part of a web address: “10 Best Tips for Beginners!” becomes 10-best-tips-for-beginners.
Who is it for?
Bloggers on Blogger and WordPress, online shop owners naming product pages, and developers who need clean, readable addresses from titles.
How to use it
- Paste one title per line.
- Choose the Separator (Hyphen (-) is standard), lowercase, and a Max length (0 = no limit).
- Copy the slugs.
Good slugs
- Use hyphens, not underscores: search engines read hyphens as spaces between words.
- Keep them short: 3–6 meaningful words. Remove dates and words like “a”, “the” if the slug is long.
- Accents are removed (café becomes cafe). Hindi and other scripts are better written in English letters for slugs, because non-Latin slugs become long %E0%A4… codes when shared.
Using it on Blogger
In the post editor, open Permalink on the right → Custom permalink → paste the slug (Blogger adds .html). Do this before publishing: changing the link of a published post breaks old links to it.
WordPress and shops
Paste it in the Slug or URL handle field. If you change a live page’s slug, add a 301 redirect from the old address.
Errors and how to fix them
- Empty or very short slug: the title had only symbols or a non-Latin script; write a few English words.
- Slug cut mid-word: increase Max length or set 0 for no limit.
- Blogger adds numbers: another post already uses that permalink; choose a different slug.
