What is it?
The LIC Maturity Calculator estimates how much a traditional LIC endowment policy may pay when it matures. It shows the bonus added, the estimated maturity amount, the total premiums you pay and your yearly return.
Who is it for?
LIC endowment policyholders estimating maturity, and anyone judging an old policy’s real return.
How to use it
- Enter the Sum assured and Policy term.
- Enter the Bonus per ₹1,000 sum assured, per year. Find your plan’s latest simple reversionary bonus on licindia.in (it changes every year).
- Add any Final additional bonus per ₹1,000 (if any).
- Enter the Yearly premium (to see your real return) and Premium paying term.
Why the estimate can differ
- Bonuses are declared every year and aren’t guaranteed in advance. Past rates are only a guide.
- Premiums include GST and any riders; use the base premium for a fair return figure.
What the yearly return tells you
Traditional endowment plans often return about 4–6% a year. That is lower than PPF and much lower than long-term equity funds, because part of the premium pays for life cover and costs. If you mainly need protection, compare with the Term vs Endowment Calculator.
Before surrendering
Surrendering early usually loses a large part of what you paid. Consider making the policy paid-up, or continuing if few years remain. Ask LIC for the surrender and paid-up values first.
This is an estimate to help you plan, not financial or tax advice. Read the scheme or policy documents, and ask a qualified adviser for big decisions.
Errors and how to fix them
- Return looks too low or high: check the bonus is per ₹1,000 sum assured per year.
