What is it?
The Age Difference Calculator tells you how much older one person is than another. It shows the gap in years, months and days, and also in weeks and in days.
Who is it for?
Families, couples, students and anyone filling forms that ask for age gaps.
How to use it
Enter the First person’s date of birth and the Second person’s date of birth. The order doesn’t matter. The answer appears as you type; there is no Calculate button. Tap Copy result to copy it, or Share on WhatsApp to send it.
Uses
- Siblings, couples, parents and children, or teammates.
- School age-group rules or sports categories.
- Forms that ask for the age gap between spouses or for adoption eligibility.
Good to know
Months are counted calendar month to calendar month, so the gap in months and days may differ slightly from dividing days by 30. For one person’s age on a date, use the Age Calculator.
Worked examples
- Born 14 March 1990 and 2 November 1994: the gap is 4 years 7 months 19 days, about 1,694 days.
- Twins born either side of midnight: a gap of 0 years 0 months 1 day, but different birthdays.
Questions people ask
- Does the order matter? No: the tool shows who is Older and the same gap either way.
- Does the gap change over time? No. The years, months and days between two birth dates are fixed for life, although the gap feels smaller as people grow older.
- Leap days? Days are counted exactly, including 29 February.
